One of LEAP's sponsors is Anthem HealthKeepers Plus, an insurance company offering insurance plans to recipients of Medicaid. You may have seen Anthem representatives with informational material at some recent Mobile Market stops.

Here is information Anthem wanted us to share with our readers:

During the Public Health Emergency (PHE), nearly all Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and Expansion members kept their coverage, regardless of changes in eligibility or status. Due to new legislation signed on December 29, 2022, Medicaid members may begin to lose coverage as soon as April 1, 2023.

Cardinal Care is the new name for Virginia’s Medicaid program; it began on 1/1/23. Learn more here about this new program.

‍The state of Virginia has begun the Medicaid renewal process. Medicaid clients should make sure their mailing address and phone number (especially if they have moved within the last 3 years) is correct so they can receive important renewal information from the state. They can make sure their address is correct by calling Anthem HealthKeepers Plus at 800-901-0020. Clients can also find out their Medicaid renewal date by calling that number.
