Across the Roanoke region, there are beautiful spaces, side lots, donated land, tended beds -- all manner of places designated as community gardens.
Over the last few months, LEAP's Community Gardens Manager, Davey Rogner Stewards, has been coordinating with area gardening organizations to create a Roanoke Community Gardens Network. The idea is that our community is stronger when it works together, and that a network can share knowledge, resources, tools, and volunteers.
Here are a few of the groups engaged in starting this collaboration: One Valley (Carver Garden), Virginia Cooperative Extension, Roanoke Master Gardeners, The Giving Garden in Salem, Trees Roanoke, Lick Run Farm, Garden Variety Harvests, The Harvest Collective, and Hollins University.
