In January, LEAP hosted US Sen. Tim Kaine for a tour of The LEAP Hub and as a participant in a roundtable of young leaders from Roanoke. During the tour, Senator Kaine got a first-hand look at the food systems work LEAP does locally, regionally, and across Virginia. LEAP then hosted Kaine's coffee conversation with 15 local leaders, all under 40, in our new community room.

Senator Kaine opened the coffee by asking: “How can we help you do what you do better?”

The small business owners, nonprofit directors, teachers, bankers, and planners answered in a wide-ranging, multilayered discussion.
