Homemade Pumpkin Puree

Makes 4 about cups


  • 1 pie pumpkin
  • 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil


  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Cut pumpkin in half from the top down.
  4. Use a spoon or ice cream scoop to remove the seeds and strings from the inside.
  5. Brush oil over the inside of the pumpkin and place cut-edge down on the baking sheet.
  6. Use a fork to pierce the pumpkin skin a few times all over.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until a fork easily pierces the pumpkin skin.
  8. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  9. Scoop the insides into a blender and blend until smooth.
