There's bustle in this small space every Tuesday afternoon, as the LEAP Mobile Market opens its doors, offering fresh, seasonal produce and value-added products. For most of the year, Farm Share members collect their weekly portion of local food and online shoppers retrieve their orders. A few vendors set up shop to round out the offerings. A group of kids might stop by to shop with Market Bucks and learn about local food. Or a caterer might be preparing a tasty feast in the adjacent LEAP Kitchen. It's all good, the energy and the offerings at this market. And good for you, too.
In case of inclement weather, check LEAP's Facebook and Instagram pages
for up-to-date information.
The West End Farmers Market doubles the value of purchases made by SNAP, Medicaid, and WIC recipients. Simply let the market manager know you’d like to participate in our match programs, and for every dollar you spend (EBT, cash, or debit), you will receive a dollar in free fruits and vegetables. If you spend $10, the market manager will give you $10 in black tokens (good for any SNAP-eligible item at market), and $10 in red tokens (good for produce and plants only), for a total of $20.
Beginning Tuesday, May 2, the West End Farmers Market will move to 1027 Patterson Ave. SW.
In this space beside The LEAP Hub, the West End Farmers Market will have room
to grow into a lively mid-week market.
Stay tuned for West End Farmers Market special events!
